Komatsu Announces Large Dump Truck Production in Russian Plant

The Komatsu Group (Komatsu) has decided to produce HD785 large dump trucks with maximum payload of 91 tons at Komatsu Manufacturing Rus, LLC (KMR) which opened in Yaroslavl, Russia in June this year.

Equipped with an integrated production line from welding to assembly, KMR has already launched the production of hydraulic excavators. To capitalize on demand for dump trucks for use in mines in the mid to long-range future in resource-rich Russia, Komatsu has decided to add HD785 large dump trucks to KMR's production. With an eye to starting their production in the second half period of fiscal 2011, KMR plans to broaden the model range of large dump trucks in tandem with the market growth.

With respect to key components of HD785 models, KMR will procure them from Japan in the near future, while KMR will weld, paint and assemble the equipment with plans to increase the local procurement ratio of parts in phases. KMR will supply its dump trucks to CIS markets.
