Michael Baker Enters Construction Management and Inspection Services Agreements with PennDOT

Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE Amex: BKR), announced today that it has been selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Engineering District 8-0, for two separate agreements to perform construction management and construction inspection services in Central Pennsylvania over a five-year period for $3.5 million.

One agreement includes construction management support and inspection services on nine construction projects with a combined construction value of over $25 million. The second agreement is an open-end construction management support agreement for various projects. Project scopes on both agreements range from pavement overlays, bridge rehabilitations, and signal improvements to full bridge replacements and roadway reconstruction.

“Use of construction management ‘open-end agreements’ are new to this PennDOT District, and we are anxious to show our client the benefits of this contracting type,” said Pennsylvania Construction Services Manager Matthew Natale, P.E. “We believe that we can offer superior value across a greater number of projects than ever before.”
