Jacobs to Provide Design-Build Services for US 281, Loop 1604 Interchange in Texas

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (Alamo RMA) through Williams Brothers Construction to provide design/build services for the US 281/Loop 1604 Interchange in San Antonio, Texas. 

Officials estimate the construction value to be $109 million, with a design contract value estimated at $9.1 million.

As part of the agreement, Jacobs will design eight direct connectors and Williams Brothers will construct the southern four direct connectors in the US 281/Loop 1604 interchange. The project includes nine bridges, four direct connectors and two pedestrian bridges, along with the design and modification of noise walls. This is the first design/build project executed by the Alamo RMA.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Robert M. Clement stated, "Jacobs is delighted to work with Williams Brothers Construction and the Alamo RMA on one of the largest federal stimulus transportation projects in Bexar County. We look forward to assisting in implementing operational and safety enhancements while providing needed relief for this congested intersection."
