Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) today announced its Virtual Environment (VE) is approved energy simulation software for LEED® Canada.
The VE is able to demonstrate compliance for Energy and Atmosphere (EA) Prerequisite 2 and EA Credit 1. IES’ software will promote and assist designers by helping them incorporate and work towards LEED Canada standards right from the earliest stages of a design, as well as integrating this with other performance analysis.
Over 2,000 Canadian projects have been registered for LEED certification since its inception. The IES Virtual Environment is now accepted for projects pursuing LEED Canada New Construction and Major Renovations (NC) and Core and Shell (CS) certification. More information on LEED Canada Approved Energy Simulation Software can be found here. The IES VE is also qualified as EPACT software for calculating energy and power cost savings that meet federal tax incentive requirements for commercial buildings.
In addition, as an approved Experienced Modeller, Luc Delestrade, Senior Project Consultant at IES, can third-party review energy models prepared in the VE for LEED Canada certification. IES Consulting is also able, through its approved LEED APs, to provide various levels of LEED project support depending on requirements, from full project management, to energy and daylighting modeling.
“We look forward to providing our software as well as our premier consulting services to Canada in an effort to work together towards achieving ever higher LEED standards. Combined with our consulting services, VE approval for LEED Canada ensures users are able to understand, and more importantly, implement this software from the earliest stage of their designs,” said Don McLean, founder and CEO of IES. “With over 10,000 LEED professionals in Canada, our consulting team is looking forward to educating and assisting in new projects throughout the region.”
