Grand Homes Wins 'Builder of the Year' at 2005 McSAM Awards

Grand Homes was honored at the 2005 McSAM Awards when they humbly accepted seven of the evening's awards, including Builder of the Year (for a company with under 1000 units completed); Sales Executive of the Year and Marketing Director of the Year.

Presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas (HBA), the prestigious McSAM awards honor outstanding achievements among HBA's builders, developers and associates. Virtually a "who's who" of the best in the sales and marketing sector of the homebuilding industry, the awards acknowledge those demonstrating exceptional strategic, creative and innovative marketing strategies for the residential homebuilding market.

"To be chosen as Builder of the Year is a great success for Grand Homes," said Stephen H. Brooks, President, Grand Homes. "It takes a team effort to be competitive and successful in this market, and winning this category, as well garnering six other awards, is significant and I am quite honored to have the team that I do at Grand Homes."

To be considered for McSAM Builder of the Year, the building company must enter at least one entry in seven required categories. The selection process is two-tiered with a local panel of judges evaluating the individual achievement awards and a nationally recognized panel of new home marketing experts judging the advertising, marketing, architectural design and interior merchandising awards. A local panel of judges evaluates the sales and marketing professionals because they understand the nuances and competitiveness of this particular market. The national panel of judges consists of an architect, interior merchandiser, advertising agency, a builder/developer marketing director and a home builder. Each category is judged and scored with the winner receiving the highest score and finalists receiving points for 2nd through 5th place.

After judging is completed, all scores are tabulated and the builder who receives the most points in the required categories is named Builder of the Year.

The McSAM Awards were created in 1979 by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas in recognition of Sales and Marketing excellence. The prestigious McSAM Award is given to Builders, Developers and Associates who have made a significant and creative contribution in residential marketing through specific achievements during the year. The 2005 McSAM awards were presented April 30, 2005.
