NCKU Starts Construction of Sheng Li Green Corridor in Taiwan

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) began the construction of Sheng Li Green Corridor from July 5th till November 8th at Sheng Li Road, Tainan, Taiwan.

The purpose of the construction is to beautify and open up the public space along Sheng Li Road, strengthen the green scenes along the road, create a comfortable pedestrian walk for teacher and students at NCKU as well as citizens in Tainan, and construct a new image of the city.

Construction and Maintenance Division of Office of General Affairs at NCKU expressed, “During the construction period, vehicles and motorcycles can still pass Sheng Li Road. However, the parking spots will undergo a makeover. The exits of the side doors of Cheng-Kung Campus and Kuang-Fu Campus will also be sealed. The top priorities of the construction are to lower walls, share resources and service with local citizens and allow the university to become part of the community.”

The construction of Sheng Li Green Corridor will preserve the green sceneries on the sides of the road and enhance the quality of pedestrian walk, hoping to improve the surrounding views of the most important historical and cultural site in Tainan, strengthen the historical and cultural atmosphere of Tainan city and achieve the goal of a sustainable green city.
