The BuyBoard of Texas, a purchasing cooperative, awarded a series of Job Order Contracts to The Gordian Group, Inc, the leaders in Job Order Contracting (JOC) products, services and solutions. Using EZIQC®, the company's specialized version of JOC, BuyBoard members now have access to competitively bid, high quality construction services.
Administered and endorsed by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) the BuyBoard is a Local Purchasing Cooperative designed to help members' purchasing power and to simplify the purchasing process using a customized electronic system. It also helps members comply with state bidding requirements and to identify qualified vendors of commodities, goods and services. The cooperative is endorsed by the Texas Municipal League, Texas Association of Counties, and Texas Association of School Administrators.
While Job Order Contracting services have long been available in Texas through the BuyBoard, this is the first time The Gordian Group, founded by the inventor of JOC, Harry Mellon, has been awarded a contract by the BuyBoard.

The program, which is available throughout Texas, includes competitively bid contractors from multiple regions. That ensures BuyBoard members will receive comprehensive service coverage and fixed pricing, regardless of their location or construction volume.
"With our membership divided into regions and multiple contractors awarded in each region, members can be assured they will be able to find numerous contractors who can provide comprehensive and uninterrupted service," said Sharon McAfee, BuyBoard Program Director.
The BuyBoard EZIQC program is currently active, and member agencies can begin planning projects immediately.
EZIQC is provided by The Gordian Group, world leaders in indefinite quantity construction consulting made available through purchasing cooperatives. Each year, more than $1.25 billion in construction spending is sourced using the company's EZIQC product and others. The saving to taxpayers adds up to millions of dollars and countless man-hours in procurement and project management time.
