NCC Awarded New Multimedia Building Project at Aarhus Harbor

NCC Construction Denmark has been commissioned by Aarhus municipality to construct a new multimedia building at Aarhus Harbor. The contract pertains to the first phase and joint planning and preparations will now commence ahead of construction start in August 2011. The assignment will be implemented as a partnering project, with a total order value of approximately SEK 500 million.

Up to April 2011, NCC and Aarhus municipality will prepare the final parameters for the construction project. The work includes an agreement pertaining to an agreed target price for the project, following which actual construction, which is estimated to have an order value of approximately SEK 500 million, will commence.

The multimedia building will house the new main library in Aarhus and will also contain citizen services, multimedia auditoriums, a children’s theater and coffee bars.

Partnering is a structured form of cooperation whereby developers, consultants and contractors jointly solve construction assignments. The method is based on transparent and honest cooperation allowing various areas of expertise to complement each other throughout the construction process.

The assignment will be registered among orders in the second quarter of 2011 and the multimedia building is scheduled for completion at the end of 2014.
