Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE Amex:BKR), announced today that it has received a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for the delivery of services related to reduction of energy usage and improved sustainability in compliance with the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007 and Executive Order 13423, Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management.
Baker was selected by GSA as one of 20 such BPA recipients. The maximum aggregate capacity of all BPAs awarded is $500 million.
Specifically, Baker and its team members would potentially provide energy management planning and strategies, training on energy management, building commissioning, energy audits, water conservation, and resource efficiency services.
Baker’s Gary Kettler, vice president and federal business manager, said, “We are thrilled to be among a handful of contractors selected for this important GSA program. The team we have assembled provides the array of carbon-neutral and resource reduction approaches and solutions our federal clients are seeking. This opportunity also represents significant strategic value since it offers federal agencies a ‘vehicle’ to access additional services, solutions, and technologies offered by Baker and its team.”
