Turner Construction Company, the nation's leading builder of sports facilities, has been selected by Peregrine Sports, LLC and the City of Portland to manage the $31 million, renovation and expansion of PGE Park in Portland, Ore. Construction is underway and upon completion in spring 2011, PGE Park will become home to the Portland Timbers MLS team.
The scope of work includes the construction of a training facility, club seating with full-service restaurant, grandstands with concessions, a roof structure to cover the stands and a new playing field to accommodate the Federation Internationale de Football Association and Major League Soccer guidelines.
In addition, Turner will manage construction of a 12,000 sq. ft. sports training and rehabilitation facility that will be integrated in to the East side seating area and will serve the neighborhood year round.
Turner has constructed four Major League Soccer stadiums, Dick's Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids; Rio Tinto Stadium for Real Salt Lake; Toyota Park, home of the Chicago Fire and is currently constructing the new home of the Kansas City Wizards.
