MT2 Offers New ECOBOND LBP Solution for Contractors

MT2, LLC of Arvada, CO is providing eco-protective green technology to help contractors and property owners comply with the recent EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP). MT2 is gaining market awareness through the application of its ECOBOND® LBP as a cost-saving response to the challenges of LBP. Customer response has been positive:

J.D. Pritchard, President of PCI Bridge stated; “Since learning about MT2’s ECOBOND® LBP, we have found that this product provides a cost-effective way to improve safety for our workers while at the same time reducing the challenges we face in working with LBP. In fact, PCI has been able to effectively make ECOBOND® a part of winning bids [outside of Colorado.” PCI Bridge provides services worldwide for cost-effective bridge removal, deck removal as well as lead-based paint abatement

“It goes on incredibly smoothly. The five hundredths (.050) tip nozzle is the perfect application, and we’re happy with the product. The encapsulation is great … it does what it’s supposed to do. End of story,” said Henry Nave, Project Manager with Flatirons Construction.

House with peeling and chipping LBP

Jorge Munoz, a team leader for Flatirons Construction, when asked about ECOBOND® LBP replied, “I like working with it … it’s a great product. I don’t mind usin’ it.”

ECOBOND® LBP provides a simple, easy to use latex-based barrier enhancing the protection of workers and the environment. The coating locks down chipping and peeling paint preventing it from becoming more of a hazard, simplifying cleanup. All for a very low cost per square foot, contractors and owners can manage LBP with a product that will assist them in complying with the new RRP rule.

The sweeping RRP rule took effect on Earth Day 2010 (22 April) and has contractors scrambling to gain certifications and understanding of the rules governing required contractor certification. In addition, the RRP significantly impacts work procedures potentially increasing costs between 50% and 150%. The most important aspect of the RRP is that LBP must be contained and prevented from leaving the workspace where it could potentially expose workers, passersby or building occupants to lead (Pb) in dust or in fine debris.

New Proven Lead-Based Paint (LBP) Technology Solves Problems:

MT2, LLC manufactures the new patented & proven technology that “removes the hazards from lead-based paint (LBP) abatement.” How does it help?

  • Ease of Use – just paint ECOBOND® LBP onto any surface that contains lead-based paint to create a NON-HAZARDOUS waste.
  • Contractor Protection – Simple solution for chipping & peeling lead-based paint – reduces problem as ECOBOND® LBP seals onto existing surface protecting workers and property owners; simplifies cleanup
  • Low Cost Solution - ECOBOND® LBP costs are similar to standard latex paint prices, saving contractors and property owners thousands of dollars

ECOBOND® LBP simplifies the burden of requirements for contractor and property owner compliance with the EPA’s new RRP rule, providing substantial cost savings. The effectiveness is particularly important for contractors as they seek alternatives to lower costs in the highly competitive business of renovations and repair.
