Illinois-Based Home Service Firm Receives Certification from EPA

Castino Painting and Home Services, the leading home service company on the North Shore, received certification by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conduct Renovation, Repair and Painting Activities in target housing and child-occupied facilities.

The new EPA mandated Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program that will be going into effect on April 22, 2010, aims to protect against lead-based paint hazards associated with renovation, repair and painting activities. This program mandates that contractors working in homes and child-occupied facilities built before 1978 be trained and certified in lead-safe work practices.

"Scraping or sanding lead-based paint can create an ingestible dust in the air that can endanger you and your children. Castino will be following all guidelines set forth by the EPA," Said Roger Castino, Owner.
