GreenWizard, Inc. – a web-based expert system that allows architects, engineers, and contractors to cross-search, compare, and document products for LEED and green commercial construction – today announced that it has entered into a business alliance with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) to include information about SCS-certified, high-performing green products for the built environment in the GreenWizard product database.
Emeryville, CA-based Scientific Certification Systems is an international leader in independent third-party assessment of environmental and sustainable attributes for a broad array of industries. The partnership with GreenWizard will highlight SCS-certified building products.
Currently, building product manufacturers (BPMs) can access a web-based database tool to post product listings in GreenWizard’s free public database. But now, with this business alliance, GreenWizard will work with SCS to specifically identify, and facilitate the loading of data from SCS’ certified products database, into the GreenWizard database. This move will substantially strengthen GreenWizard’s database: SCS will add more than 2,000 certified products from thousands of companies to the database.
“GreenWizard is thrilled to form a partnership with one the leading third-party product evaluator in the green building and sustainability sector,” said GreenWizard’s CEO Adam Bernholz. “We have found in SCS an organization that realizes the importance of a sustainable built environment, and in fact has built its entire organization around the documentation and certification of sustainable material attributes. By working with GreenWizard, SCS will be able to actively promote both the strength of its independent third-party standards and certifications, while also actively promoting the specific environmental attributes and certifications of its client companies’ product lines.”
“We are tremendously pleased to partner with GreenWizard. They are a data-driven workflow solution for the sustainable building industry, and we are honored that they have partnered with SCS to promote our standards and certifications, as well as SCS-certified green product lines,” added Tom Hanus, Director of Systems Development & Marketing, SCS.
