Saving energy could hardly be easier – existing lighting installations with regular T8 36W fluorescent lamps and conventional control gear can now be switched to economical LED technology with OSRAM’s high-performance T8 Substitube.
T8 fluorescent lamps with conventional control gear are still used in many areas but OSRAM is the first major lighting manufacturer to develop a solution to replace them with energy-efficient and long-lasting LED lamps with one simple twist.
When fitting the T8 Substitube, no changes to the luminaires are required. Only the starter has to be replaced in order to exploit the energy-saving potential of semiconductor technology. The T8 Substitube enables energy savings of up to 50 percent per luminaire. This retrofit solution, in which the same bases as classic fluorescent lamps are used, is simplicity itself and completely safe. OSRAM thus sets new standards in safety with LED tubes.
With its exceptionally long operating life of up to 50,000 hours, this LED alternative also reduces maintenance requirements considerably. Its illumination level is comparable to that of reflector luminaires.
The Substitube is especially well suited to applications with long operating hours such as in industry, where with electricity cost savings the lamps can pay for themselves in less than two years. But not only their energy efficiency makes the T8 Substitube an environmentally friendly option – the lamp is also mercury-free and therefore compliant with RoHS.
