Bemis Manufacturing Company, the world leader in toilet seat engineering and design, has extended its popular commercial toilet seat fastening system to the metal hinge products in its residential Mayfair® Designer Series™ of molded wood toilet seats.
STA-TITE® Seat Fastening System
The STA-TITE® Seat Fastening System™, which eliminates the problem of loose and wobbly toilet seats in high-use commercial settings, is now available in Mayfair metal hinge products in a variety of styles, including Easy-Clean & Change™ and Whisper-Close®.
"Since its introduction by Bemis in the commercial market, STA-TITE has proven to be extremely popular," said Melissa Glancey, Bemis Channel Manager, North America Plumbing Products. "Not only does STA-TITE eliminate loose and wobbly seats with its patented design, it also cuts installation time by as much as a third."
The STA-TITE system utilizes a patented single-piece fastener that includes a glass-filled nylon nut that outperforms traditional stainless steel fasteners and features a finned bushing that securely centers the bolt in the mounting hole regardless of variations from bowl to bowl.
After mounting the seat on the bowl, the STA-TITE nut is finger tightened and then secured by a wrench. When the correct tightness is achieved, the lower section of the nut shears away, ensuring proper installation every time with no guesswork and no risk of over tightening or bowl damage.
"Because of its popularity in the commercial market, we tested STA-TITE with consumers in the residential market, " said Glancey.
"When we asked consumers what characteristics are most important when purchasing a toilet seat for their home, the top two responses were having a toilet seat that stays firmly attached to the toilet and a seat that doesn't shift around when in use," Glancey said. "STA-TITE directly addresses those concerns and eliminates them."
In addition to the STA-TITE feature, the Mayfair Designer Line now also includes DuraGuard®, an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of microorganisms on the seat, promoting hygiene and a fresh feeling.
