NCC Construction Sweden will begin construction of a forensic psychiatry unit in Huddinge outside Stockholm during March 2010. The customer is Locum, and the assignment, which was disclosed to the market in April 2008, has an established order value of SEK 540 million.
The contract with Locum takes the form of a cooperative agreement, which means that the parties will cooperate throughout all phases of the project. Since planning and system design have now been completed, construction is scheduled to start in March 2010.
The facility, which will total 17,000 square meters, will be built on a lot of 15.7 hectares.
“This is a large and complicated project in which, thanks to the partnership agreement with Locum, we will be able to capitalize on the expertise of all the parties involved and thus ensure a smoother construction process,” says Claes Magnusson, department manager at NCC Construction, Stockholm/Mälardalen region.
Locum’s property manager Marie Boestad adds in a comment: “The existing forensic psychiatry unit is antiquated and run down and needs to be replaced. As a result of this project, both personnel and patients will have better premises.”
Order registration will take place in the first quarter of 2010.
