IdeaPaint Displays Dry-Erase Paint Product in Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

IdeaPaint, the creator of high-performance dry-erase paint solutions, announced today that its cutting-edge, consumer-grade, dry-erase paint product CRE-8 was featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on Sunday, February 21, 2010.

The Wagstaff family of Gainesville, Fla. received a new home from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition after starting a nonprofit music school for the community while their own home crumbled around them.

The family’s oldest child, Travis, is a talented artist and an avid fan of comic books. Along with Marvel Comics, IdeaPaint helped to create a fluid comic book display within Travis’ new room. An array of comic book covers were painted across Travis’ walls, with IdeaPaint-coated talk bubbles featured in various colors across the mural to encourage ongoing creation of new interaction among characters.

Beyond the comic book wall, IdeaPaint was incorporated throughout the entire room in various forms. IdeaPaint clouds were dispersed across a constellation mural on Travis’ ceiling. The paint was also used to create a desktop easel to allow Travis to draw and write on an erasable canvas whenever he wants. In addition, a bedside IdeaPaint wall was created so he could sketch impromptu drawings or write down ideas that come to him at any point during the day or night. The inside of his closet doors were also painted for some extra creative space.

“IdeaPaint is the ultimate tool for creative individuals, as it allows them to work outside the confines of a standard canvas and start with a fresh slate at any time,” said Morgen Newman, co-founder of IdeaPaint. “We designed this room with the goal of creating an interactive space that would surround Travis with new opportunities for creativity and innovative learning on a daily basis. We’re thrilled to be able to provide Travis with a new medium for his exponential creativity and look forward to seeing the creations that emerge all over his walls.”

Locally, IdeaPaint has recently installed a similar creative space at the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club. A public unveiling of the project will take place in mid-March.
