A recent battery of tests performed by a nationally renowned third-party lab ranks Opus Roof Blanket's one-of-a-kind surface texture the very best in the roofing underlayment industry for walking surface traction.
Tests were conducted in accordance with ASTM F1679 using a Variable Incidence Tribometer (VIT). Included in the testing were felt paper, five different brands of plastic sheeting underlayment, and Opus Roof Blanket. Samples were tested for walking traction in all directions while dry and wet. The results show that Opus's unique composition gives it the best walking traction in any direction, wet or dry, of any underlayment tested.
"We designed and developed Opus based on surveys and feedback from roofing contractors," said Ralph Bruno, executive vice president of Propex. "Many installers expressed concerns about the slippery feel of many underlayments, especially plastic sheeting underlayment. The results of this third-party testing prove that when it comes to worker safety, Opus is in a category of its own."
Opus Roof Blanket is set to debut at the 2010 International Roofing Expo (IRE) in New Orleans, La., on February 22-24. To feel the Opus difference for yourself, visit booth #2361 at IRE.
