Since BOMAG's entry into the milling and finishing market in 2006, the Boppard based manufacturer has introduced new models to its range every year. The 300 HP series of highly mobile milling machines was introduced at Intermat 2009 along with a totally redesigned 600 HP class, the company is now using bauma to launch the first compact milling machine designed and built at the main factory in Boppard. The BM 500/15.
The BOMAG product range has expanded and includes developments to previous models. The new BM 500/15 compact milling machine has a working width of 50 cm, an engine output of 125 HP, a milling depth of up to 210 mm, and in addition to the standard milling width of 500 mm, has optional milling widths of 400 mm and 300 mm. The milling machine comes as a 3-wheel standard version, but is also available as an optional 4-wheel model.
The BM 500/15 handles a wide range of applications and features superb stability. Compact dimensions and optimum weight distribution give this unit high grip and excellent manoeuvrability even in confined work space. Although of compact dimensions, this model is capable of hard work with low wear and low, eco-friendly fuel consumption. This is due to new intelligent cutting geometry and the proven BOMAG ECOMODE motor management system.
Milled material is discharged with the conveyor belt. Intelligent belt geometry ensures concentrated discharge of material, ideal both in height and width.
Operator convenience
Following BOMAG house design, this milling machine attracts expert attention with its ergonomic operator's station. The milling depth display is well positioned within visual range of the operator who has intuitive operating consoles in easy reach whether sitting or standing. Stress and strain hazards have been substantially minimised with new design features.
The BM 500/15 also a wins on service and reliability. The dust-free air intake from above means long service intervals; the well-designed tanks for oil, diesel and water are durable and impact-proof and are not used as load-bearing frame structures. And when the machine needs to be serviced, work can be carried out quickly and easily. Service access is good and simple with separate siting of the hydraulic components.
This makes the new BOMAG BM 500/15 compact milling machine the economical, powerful, eco-friendly and versatile choice for small and medium-sized projects.
