30 percent of machines BOMAG will present in its Light Equipment range at bauma 2010 will be new! Leading these innovations is the new BMP 8500 multipurpose compactor, which had its world première at NordBau 2009. This model now makes its appearance at bauma with the BOMAG Operator Security System (BOSS), a new back-up protection system. Vibratory tampers BT 60/4 and BT 65/4 have new designs and features. BOMAG single direction plates include two new model ranges designed for different types of user.

The new BMP 8500 multipurpose compactor features special BOMAG articulated steering, interference-free wireless technology for remote control, a dual exciter system with directed vibrator, an Intelligent Vibration Control (IVC) system and ECOMODE. The model showing at bauma also has the new patented BOMAG Operator Security System (BOSS) back-up protection system. This is a wireless, electronic RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system, that detects the position of the operator relative to the machine. If the operator is inside the danger zone the unit will stop automatically, effectively preventing any accident. The interference-resistant wireless technology is more reliable and efficient than conventional infrared solutions.
The new BOMAG articulated steering prevents pre-compacted surfaces being loosened by steering movements, giving a high quality surface. And the powerful, reliable and low-noise Kubota engine does the rest. This engine is well protected by the high-impact resistant all-round protection hood and by the ECOMODE system, which extends the service life of the engine. The engine automatically switches to idling speed if no control signal is received from the remote control for a few seconds while in drive mode. When a signal is received, the speed increases instantly. The result is less fuel consumption, environmental protection and longer service life.
A dual exciter system with directed vibrator and the IVC (Intelligent Vibration Control) system provide consistent compaction results.
The BMP 8500 has a unique remote control that works both with a cable and wirelessly. The wireless remote control allows the operator to keep a safe distance from the machine and/or the work area, and increases reliability with the use of wireless signals. The roller always remains under control and compaction quality high. This gives reliable output, and the health and safety of the operator is safeguarded with no hazard from hand-arm vibrations.
Optional drum extensions extend the working width up to 610 mm or 850 mm - and can be fitted easily and quickly on-site. In no time one machine is turned into two. No multipurpose compactor is more versatile !
The BOMAG BT vibratory tamper
BOMAG is launching two new petrol tampers with a new design and features: the BT 60/4 and BT 65/4, with extra component protection, great reliability and fast readiness for work on-site.
The new models feature a two-section cover on the steering bow. The air filter housing cover is at the front and the fuel tank cover at the rear. The covers are made with special hard wearing plastic, which, in addition to the engine's all-round protection panel, now offers even more component protection.
A dual fuel filter system ensures engine reliability and durability. The coarse filter remains an integral part of the fuel tank, and there is now an additional microfilter in the fuel hose. The proven Honda engine has an integrated accelerator pump for fast acceleration. In spite of low fuel emissions, working speed is rapidly reached even on cohesive soils. An optional tachometer and operating hour meter, assist service inspection work.
