Westbury Persist with Loss Making Prefabricated Home Business

Despite having posted its second straight year of losses, Westbury has decided to persist with its prefabricated homes business.

The business called Space4 registered an operating loss of £3.5 million in the financial year to February, an improvement of £500,000 for the previous 12 months.

the company sites reorganisation at its Castle Bromwich site and failure to meet targets as reasons for continued losses.

In the last 12 months the produced 600 homes, 100 below their target figure. This year they hope to produce over 2000 homes. They also intend to start a second shift in the Autumn, and hope to reach an output of 4000 units by the end of the year.
