“Green” talk is everywhere these days. But just try going green. Until now it’s been expensive, inconvenient and difficult to source. How does a consumer or professional get information on materials? How do you know if a manufacturer, distributor or retailer is the real green deal or just “green washing?” On February 1, 2010 that will change.
That’s the day NEW HOME GREEN MATERIALS AND LEARNING CENTER launches its powerful new web platform linking the public with comprehensive green resources. It will provide the most complete repository of green information, documents, educational materials, regulations, incentives and financial resources available to date. Most of the green world already expects NEW HOME to be the next Amazon or Ebay, and it appears they may actual exceed expectations.
Dubbed “The Green Social Marketplace,” the platform has been in development for nearly three years and is the first to connect the public, contractors, manufacturers, government and regulatory agencies, education providers, and news services.
The proprietary platform is a one-of-a-kind hybrid. It features social networking similar to Facebook and Linked In with a video interface like YouTube. It features a classified section similar to Craigslist, a construction project search engine similar to Bid Clerk, and “find a contractor” lead generation tools like Service Magic. That just scratches the surface – NEW HOME will be opening green building material superstores similar to Home Depot / Lowes beginning April 2010.
Designed by Rifkin, the site was developed by Alek Kundel, NEW HOME’s CTO. “Rich is not just the visionary, he is a force of nature,” commented Kundel. “The platform will have many changes and upgrades after launch but we believe it is robust and ready for action now,” added Kundel.
On February 1, 2010, NEW HOME will launch with hundreds of manufacturer profiles representing tens of thousands of products, nearly 10,000 videos, and over 25,000 documents. Rifkin and Kundel anticipate viral growth of the platform shortly after launch.
Early registration will be rewarded with free banner ads. Profiles will be searchable on the site and all major search engines, including Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Bing and AOL.
