Pecora's 890FTS Field Tintable Silicone is now available also in textured as 890FTS-TXTR, providing a grout-like finish and joint movement of plus or minus 50%. With its textured appearance, new Pecora 890FTS-TXTR provides architects and builders even more choices for their designs while still delivering the quality, wide color palette and ease of inventory management available with traditional Pecora 890FTS. 890FTS and 890FTS-TXTR are the construction industry's first silicone sealants to offer textural selection in a field tintable silicone.
Introduced in 2005, 890FTS Field Tintable Silicone was an unqualified breakthrough in sealant technology -- a high-quality, non-staining silicone that can be quickly and easily tinted at the job site. With just a three-minute mix, contractors can create just the right amount of high quality silicone sealant, eliminating the problems of ordering too much or too little silicone for a project. With the addition of 890FTS-TXTR to the field tintable silicone line, the applicator now has the option to create a wide variety of silicone colors at the job site with either a smooth finish or a mortar-like appearance.
"Finally, a textured sealant that looks like mortar," says Franco Indomenico, co-owner of Armani Restoration, a leading contracting firm based out of Hartford, CT. "We're thrilled to be able to offer an elastomeric silicone sealant for masonry joints that so closely matches the look of mortar in terms of texture and color!"
An advance in performance, aesthetics and execution, 890FTS and 890FTS-TXTR offers unprecedented flexibility in silicone sealants. And with 51 standard universal color packs, a wide variety of colors can be created in a fast, three-minute mix per unit. When special colors are needed, delivery is quicker and less costly because only color packs need to be ordered from the factory.
"Masonry and restoration contractors are excited to now have the ability to custom match the surrounding mortar or substrates in both color and texture while retaining the performance characteristics of a low modulus silicone sealant," states Shaun Wentworth, Pecora sales representative for the New England region. "The feedback I'm getting is that while there are clearly a variety of sealants in the market place, 890FTS-TXTR is the only sealant that actually looks like mortar."
