Winter Park Construction (WPC), one of Central Florida's largest and most respected general contractors, was recently selected to handle Interior Renovation and construction for the Callaway Performance Center (CPC) at the prestigious David Leadbetter's Golf Academy in Champions Gate, Florida, near Orlando.
The Callaway Performance Centers were developed by Callaway Golf's research and development department and utilize state-of-the-art technology to perform custom club fitting. There are currently 27 David Leadbetter Golf Academies strategically located around the world in 13 countries. WPC provided the facility construction and partnered with Callaway Golf to install the technology.
According to Jeff Forrest, President of WPC, "Winter Park Construction collaborated with Guy Butler Architect LLC and The Callaway Golf design and technology team to ensure that design, permitting, and construction were completed within a short time frame. Due to the precise camera and lighting technology, construction tolerances were extremely tight with the need for all elements to be placed within precise geometric requirements."
Added David Leadbetter, "Since Winter Park Construction had previously worked on several projects at the Reunion Resort, we were confident they could work within our ambitious schedule. During the process, they were very conscientious of not interrupting our ongoing business, even creating a path to our building with our customers never knowing that anything was going on. This enabled the Golf Academy to continue to operate during construction with limited impact on their operations." Commented Kevin Moore, Senior VP of Guy Butler Architect, "The project began in December with an accelerated schedule to accommodate two popular January events. We needed a firm that could anticipate our needs, offer solid estimating and quickly perform quality work without any cost surprises. We could not be more pleased with their work."
