NCC Assigned to Build Shopping Center and Apartments in Helsinki, Finland

NCC Construction Finland has been commissioned to construct a new shopping center and 255 apartments in the Myllypuro area of Helsinki, Finland. The client is the Citycon Oyj property company and the order is worth approximately SEK 425 million.

The new shopping center will have a total leasable area of 7,300 square meters and an excellent location next to the Myllypuro subway station. The 255 apartments are located on the upper floor of the shopping center.

The assignment also includes construction of an underground garage with capacity for 270 parking spaces.

Citycon develops and owns shopping centers in Finland, Sweden and the Baltic region and is listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

Construction is scheduled to commence in February 2010 and the shopping center will be completed in phases. The first section will open in summer 2011 and the second a year later.

The order will be registered in the first quarter of 2010.
