ARCADIS Acquires Engineering Consultancy Firm in Czech Republic

ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international design, consulting, engineering and management services company, today announced that it has acquired the engineering consultancy Bohemiaplan in the Czech Republic.

With gross revenues of EUR 3.5 million and 70 employees, Bohemiaplan supplies civil design services, environmental projects and engineering services for power supply, mining, and water and waste management. Further financial details were not disclosed.

Bohemiaplan started its operations in 1952 and is mainly focused on a wide range of infrastructure services. Its main activity is in the energy sector and for mining companies for which it designs industrial water- and ash treatment facilities. A second activity is land development in the region of Bohemia for local authorities where it works on water supply and water treatment plants, road design, and work for local utilities, including environmental permitting and project management. The company joins ARCADIS to generate additional growth opportunities through top line synergy and to benefit from being part of an international group. Bohemiaplan will be integrated with the existing ARCADIS activities in the Czech Republic.

"This acquisition serves to strengthen our position in Central Europe and allows us to add a lot of know-how in the energy sector to our knowledge base. With combined positions in Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania, ARCADIS is a leading consulting engineer in Central Europe, a market which has demonstrated solid growth potential in the past number of years," said Friedrich Schneider, board member for ARCADIS.
