NCC Awarded SEK 194 Million Contract to Construct School in Oslo

NCC Construction Norway has secured an assignment to build a school in Oslo with capacity for 600 pupils. The contract is with Undervisningsbygg Oslo KF and the assignment is worth about SEK 194 million.

The new school will be located in a former industrial and commercial area in the Hasle district of Oslo. The assignment comprises a junior high school with associated outdoor facilities, a café, a library and an underground multi-use hall.

The school will comprise an annex to and renovations of existing buildings, including the preservation and refurbishment of an existing industrial hall with a 17-meter high ceiling. The school will comprise a total of 6,500 square meters of floor space and an additional 2,000 square meters for the multi-use hall.

Construction will commence in January 2010 and will proceed until summer 2011. The order will be registered in the fourth quarter of 2009.
