Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it was awarded a contract from South East Water Ltd. of the United Kingdom to provide program management, design, construction, and construction management services associated with South East Water's estimated 400 million pounds Sterling (approx. US$666.3 million) Asset Management Plan (AMP) 5 Capital Investment Programme (CIP) for 2010-2015. The contract includes the option to extend the provision of services through AMP6 to 2020.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
South East Water's AMP5 CIP will invest in new and existing infrastructure associated with the supply of 565 million liters of drinking water each day to 2.1 million customers south east of England.
Security and quality of supply will be improved through investment in new and improved water sources, water treatment and distribution networks around South East Water's regions.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Mike Higgins stated, "We are delighted to have the opportunity to build on longstanding relationships with South East Water, helping our client meet business objectives by bringing an expanded range of services through our UK-based PM/CM and construction units."
