TRC Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRR) today announced that it has been selected by the West Virginia Department of Transportation’s Division of Highways (DOH) to provide construction inspection services for a new section of the Appalachian Corridor H located in northeast West Virginia.
When completed, the entire Corridor H will cover an approximately 110-mile stretch of highway extending from Elkins, West Virginia to the Virginia State Line near Strasburg, Virginia. TRC previously has provided construction inspection services on two other sections of the same corridor.
This particular section of Corridor H will extend 2.2 miles through rolling terrain and will be constructed on new alignment. In addition to extensive earthwork and grading operation inspections, TRC will manage inspection of an environmentally-sensitive 2000 Linear Feet (LF) channel relocation effort; the construction of a new four-span bridge over Knobley Road; and the construction of a new 1400 LF 10’x10’ box culvert. The project began in September 2009 and is expected to be completed in approximately two years.
The award complements TRC’s broad portfolio of construction engineering and inspection experience on transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic United States, and validates the firm’s high-level of performance on past and present inspection assignments for the West Virginia DOH.
