Modules from UK's largest MMC project at OFFSITE2005

Part of the largest MMC project ever seen in this country will be displayed by off-site manufacturer Terrapin at the OFFSITE2005 event in Watford on 6-9 June.

The display will include two full-scale examples of army living accommodation from the £2bn PFI scheme to upgrade the MoD's Colchester Garrison and provide living, training, working, recreation and welfare facilities for 3,500 MoD personnel and civilian staff.

"The modules on display are a great example of affordable, quality accommodation" says Nick Whitehouse MD of Terrapin. "They are constructed from a rigid light steel frame specifically designed to achieve high superimposed loading characteristics for multi-storey structures - they have been subjected to rigorous performance tests with impressive results. While initially designed for MoD, the modules could be used within the social housing sector or for student and key worker accommodation."

The modules at OFFSITE2005 will be fitted out as an individual bedroom with en-suite shower rooms, carpets and curtains, fully equipped with wardrobes, cupboards and a study area.

Visitors to the event will be able to walk through the exhibit and talk to Terrapin representatives. For more information about OFFSITE2005 call 01923 664800, or go to www.offsite2005.com. For more information about Terrapin go to www.terrapin-ltd.co.uk
