EagleSpan Steel Structures, Inc., of Loveland, Colorado has completed its engineering work for Phase One of the Southern Colorado Expo Center to be built in Fountain, Colorado, announced Jerry Curtis, President of EagleSpan.
Construction will begin in June 2005. Phase One will include a 207,000-square-foot exhibition hall, a 9,000- square-foot mezzanine, a 40,000-square-foot, full-service steak and seafood restaurant and bar and a 75,000-square-foot arena. EagleSpan will provide the engineering and the steel beams for the structure's frame, which will feature EagleSpan's patented technology that enables the construction of large spaces uninterrupted by pillars
. Construction on Phase Two of the Expo Center is expected to begin in March 2006. Phase Two will encompass a youth outreach center, several pavilions including livestock pavilions, and an additional 75,000-square-foot arena. Terry Hooper, owner and manager of the Southern Colorado Expo Center, stated, "This center will provide a home for expositions that are popular in our area -- RV, outdoor sports, motorcycle and hotrod, home and landscaping shows as well as a national dog show.
We will also use the Expo Center in conjunction with activities that will take place in the outdoor facilities." Jerry Curtis, President of EagleSpan, added, "This is the largest single structure employing EagleSpan's technology and steel beams to date. It is going to be unique in this area of Colorado."
