Team California Uses Southwall Heat Mirror Insulating Glass in US DOE Solar Decathlon

Energy-Saving Milgard Windows Using Heat Mirror Suspended Film Technology Power Team California to a Strong Finish in Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon

Team California celebrates its first-place victory in the Architecture Contest. Heat Mirror insulating glass enabled the team to maximize glass area without compromising energy savings.

Southwall Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:SWTX), the worldwide innovator of energy-saving films and glass products, partnered with Milgard Windows to incorporate Heat Mirror insulating glass into energy-saving windows used by Team California in the U.S. Department of Energy's fourth Solar Decathlon competition held in Washington, D.C. Southwall Insulating Glass, a joint venture company formed by Southwall last year, supplied the high performance Heat Mirror glass for the project.

“We were pleased to support Team California in this competition, which has become increasingly relevant for today’s global energy challenges,” said Bruce Lang, president of Southwall Insulating Glass. “Super-insulating glass is low-hanging fruit that can dramatically improve the energy efficiency of buildings and homes, and the technology exists today.”
