Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from University Health System (UHS) of Bexar County, Texas, to provide Lead Program Management Services for the design and construction of two major health care projects.
Officials estimate the construction value of both facilities to be nearly $900 million with a contract value estimated at $16.8 million.
University Health System's Target 2012: Capital Improvement program is the largest development project in its history. A new tower at University Hospital will double the size of the existing facility to approximately two million square feet. The hospital's two existing towers will be refurbished and incorporated into the design. The older of the towers was built in 1968.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Tom McDuffie stated, "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to serve our client and provide the people of South Texas with necessary expansions and improvements to their critical hospital facilities."
