Amey Nominated Preferred Bidder for Wakefield Council Street Lighting Contract

Amey and their partner Laing Investments have been appointed lead bidder for the £120million street lighting contract for Wakefield Council. The contract is for a 25 year period and Amey’s share is estimated at £90million.

Amey Highways Ltd will take responsibility for the management and implementation of the replacement programme and ongoing repair of the council’s entire lighting programme. It covers some 40,700 lights. Under the programme, 30,000 life expired lights will be replaced and upgraded during the first 5 years.
