16 Homebuilders Named in Insurance Investigation

The Denver Post reported last week that several national homebuilders have been named by Santa Ana, California-based First American Title Insurance for participating in an alleged kickback arrangement. The names were made public as part of a settlement between the title insurer and the Colorado Division of Insurance.

First American has agreed to refund $22 million in fees to homebuyers, but as part of the settlement does not admit to any liablity or wrongdoing.
