Integrating Wind Turbines into Buildings

The development of small-scale wind turbines has progressed rapidly over the past few years, and the number in use has risen dramatically as they have become more efficient and cost effective.

To showcase the benefits of building-integrated wind turbines, BRE and the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) are holding a one-day conference and exhibition aimed at architects, designers, distribution network operators, housing developers, energy agencies and local authorities.

Speakers from BRE, BWEA, the DTI and the OU will give presentations on a range of issues, including an overview of the market, grid connection and planning. Delegates will find out what technologies are available, and how they can be incorporated into building developments.

The event will be held on 28 April 2005 at BRE's headquarters in Watford. The cost of attending is £115 (including VAT), or £95 for BWEA members. Exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
