Conference on LEED Standards and Certifications

Green Intelligent Buildings Conference

Scientific Conservation Inc.:

WHO: David Wolins, CEO of Scientific Conservation Inc., (SCI) a leading provider of energy efficiency solutions for the $5 billion commercial building market.

WHAT: LEED standards and certification have emerged as a primary means of offering compelling “proof” that buildings are achieving environmental goals they were designed to reach. And with the advent of wireless sensors, buildings equipped with disparate electrical and mechanical systems are now being monitored even more carefully for performance anomalies that can rob buildings of optimal energy efficiency. Given all of these advancements, Mr. Wolins will explain why buildings continue to suffer from “energy drift”—typically reflecting 15-25 percent loss in energy efficiency within one to two years. In this session attendees will learn:

  • Why commercial buildings continue to suffer from “energy drift” despite advancements in control systems, the increasing deployment of sensors and the growing adoption of LEED standards and certification.

  • Specific sources of ongoing energy drift.

  • Why the integration of disparate energy management system data is insufficient to achieve optimal energy efficiency.

  • How the deployment of new “Automated Continuous Commissioning” (ACC) systems can automatically predict, detect, diagnose and prioritize faults and anomalies, enabling companies to slash annual energy spending 15-25 percent.
