The Education Services department of Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. is offering a sustainability and environmental management course. Open to the public, building owners, building managers and others are welcome to attend and learn how to improve the sustainability and environmental management of their facilities. This training is a great way to learn more about a goal all can share: preserving the environment and reducing the impact we have on the world around us.
"There is so much confusion about sustainability," says Karen Petersen, Manager of Education Services at Siemens Building Technologies. "This class provides the necessary information to develop a practical sustainability plan."
Featured topics include: sustainability performance improvement, sustainability performance measurement, business implications, green standards including Energy Star and the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED(R)) Green Building Rating System(TM). After attending this course, participants will be able to write a better business case to implement sustainability plans at their facility. Opportunities to reduce facility costs through improved energy management practices will be identified.
Dates for the class are: November 11 - 12, 2008, March 10 - 11, 2009 and July 7 - 8, 2009. The class, comprised of two day-long sessions, will be held from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Siemens Building Technologies training facility located at 950 Deerfield Parkway, Buffalo Grove, Ill. 60089.
