McGraw-Hill Construction, part of The McGraw-Hill Companies, in cooperation with the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), today announced the recent Global Construction Summit in Beijing, China exceeded expectations by over 50%. Over 450 industry leaders participated in the keynotes, panel discussions, exhibition forum and networking events, forged important business relationships and received a new Chinese language construction magazine from McGraw-Hill Construction.
The Summit provided a platform for senior executives from both Chinese and international construction companies to discuss pressing issues facing the domestic China market and the markets abroad. Moreover, participants interacted and engaged in business-to-business transactions and negotiations.
Mr. Diao Chunhe, Vice Chairman of CHINCA, observed, "The Global Construction Summit represents the highest level construction conference ever held in China with the purpose of not only bringing foreign firms to China, but also offering Chinese firms a platform and communication channel by which to 'look outward' and seek opportunities abroad. CHINCA is very proud to have co-hosted such an important event with McGraw-Hill Construction."
"The Summit was an outstanding event and an overwhelming success," commented Norbert W. Young, Jr., FAIA, president of McGraw-Hill Construction. "The initial feedback on the program and its networking opportunities was reported to be superior to any conference attended in the past. It gave attendees a rare opportunity to meet with senior Chinese officials and executives and gave insights into their views and opinions on a range of important industry issues."
McGraw-Hill Construction set a new standard for construction information companies in China through both the staging of the event and the distribution of a new Chinese magazine produced jointly by two its industry leading publications, Architectural Record and Engineering News-Record (ENR).
Mr. Young concluded, "The Summit demonstrated the McGraw-Hill Construction's leadership role in connecting people, products and projects, as well as setting the standards for quality information and industry intelligence."
