Rohm and Haas will once again be participating in the forthcoming Eurocoat 2008 trade fair and congress to be held in Lyon from September 30-2 October. This annual European coatings show is a key industrial event, particularly for Southern European coatings providers, attracting over 20,000 international visitors. It provides an ideal opportunity for companies to showcase their innovations in the coatings industry.
At the Rohm and Haas stand – A23 – three exciting new innovations will be highlighted that demonstrate the company’s commitment to sustainability. This theme is carried over to the official Congress, where Rohm and Haas experts will be presenting three papers on innovation in the theme of the congress - “Green Chemistry”.
Highlighted at the Rohm and Haas booth will be:
Primal™ HG-1000, containing new Hydrotech™ technology.
This new, hybrid acrylic binder is suitable for use in low VOC gloss and semi-gloss applications, and has been developed in response to the EU 2010 VOC regulations. It builds on the strengths of pure acrylic systems, and offers a new dimension in open-time, making it an attractive option for professional and DIY audiences alike.
Ropaque™ Dual, This is a new opaque polymer that delivers cost savings and performance advantages in both water and solvent-borne architectural paints. It permits the reformulation of alkyd based paints whilst maintaining the benefits and advantages of using opaque polymer.
Maincote™ 1100, containing new Avanse™ Technology
Maincote™ 1100 emulsion is a new member of the Avanse™ technology platform, delivering a high level of gloss, gloss retention, and corrosion protection while being uncommonly versatile in its ability to be formulated into primer, mid coat, topcoat, or Direct-To-Metal (DTM) paints, over a variety of bare metal and primed substrates.
Also highlighted at the booth will be:
Rocima™ 350 Biocides, Rocima™ 350 biocides complement water based architectural paints with a VOC-free formula to protect homes and buildings against unsightly fungi and algae growth.
The company’s senior technical team will be presenting 3 papers at the “Green Chemistry” congress. Dr. Andrew Trapani will be talking on the topic of “Enabling Technologies for the Coatings Industry: Sustainability is Profitability”; the region’s sustainability expert, Dr. Houshang Kheradmand, will be talking on “Environmental Regulations: How Technologies are Rising to the Challenge”, and Dr. Anne Koller will be talking in depth about the company’s new low VOC gloss open time technology – “Low VOC gloss coatings: Advances in Performance and Sustainability”.
