Utah-based Connor Sport Court International was spotlighted on the first day of the 2008 Beijing Olympics when it's Sport Court PortaFloor® was used as the special events flooring for the opening ceremonies.
Ron Cerny, president and CEO of Connor Sport Court International (CSCI), said the PortaFloor was purchased by the contractor who built the Beijing Olympic Stadium (the "Bird's Nest") specifically for the opening ceremonies.
"We shipped 100,000 square feet of PortaFloor through our Chinese distributor last March, but due to some of the secrecy surrounding the opening ceremonies, we were never sure until that last moment that it would actually be used," Cerny said. "It's a tribute to how quickly PortaFloor can be installed."
Randy Herrick, product manager for PortaFloor for Sport Court®, said the Portafloor had ultimately been purchased by the Olympic Committee.
