Chinese Government to Sponsor a High Level Showcase for Green Building and Infrastructure Products

China Eco Expo, in partnership with China’s Ministry of Construction will present the International Green Building/Green Cities Expo in Beijing next Spring.

The Expo will be the featured attraction of the 14th annual MOC Construction& Urban Services Expo, taking place June 18-20, 2009 at the Beijing International Exhibition Center.

Some facts to consider:

  • The MOC event is the premiere industry trade show and Conference in China, attracting almost 1,000 exhibitors and a professional audience of over 50,000.
  • Half of all construction in the world will take place in China during the next decade, including housing, infrastructure and transportation for an estimated 200,000,000 new urban residents.
  • Comprehensive green building codes have been issued and the government is starting to enforce them. In addition serious goals in Energy efficiency, water quality and conservation, air quality, pllution prevention and resource conservation have been set. China’s green revolution has begun
  • There is a severe shortage of the materials, technology and expertise needed to support the massive construction program and sustainable growth of China’s cities
  • To help fill this gap the Ministry of Construction is offering extraordinary support to participants in the International Expo, such as setting up one on one meetings with target officials in the public and private sectors
