Greenworks, a sister company to Jewson, the UK's leading supplier of timber and building materials, has scooped a Bronze award for its B2B business website at the Horizon Interactive Awards 2008.
The prestigious international competition recognises outstanding achievement among interactive media producers and entrants are reviewed by a panel of industry experts. Now in its seventh year, the awards are judged on factors such as solution creativity and originality, communication of message and overall graphic design.
Part of Saint-Gobain, www.greenworks-energy.co.uk offers a wide range of sustainable building solutions for UK architects, plumbing and heating engineers, property developers and home owners. By using the simple eco-friendly house interface, users can easily see how such solutions can be implemented to help residential and commercial properties.
From ground source heat pumps and solar panels, to water efficient bathroom technology, the Greenworks website enables people to learn more about renewable energy technology and water conservation products. It features a unique profiling system which allows architects and self builders to find bespoke content for their building needs and discover what technologies might be relevant to them.
The website was designed and produced in June 2007 by the interactive digital agency www.Cyber-Duck.co.uk and was project managed by Alan Penny, Business Development Director for Greenworks. Horizon presented a Bronze Award to the Greenworks website for its 'excellent user interface and ease of navigation, copywriting, design and interactive content'.
One aspect of the website that may have contributed to its success is the recently added interactive water conservation section. It allows architects, plumbers and home owners to explore an interactive bathroom and see new water conserving technologies such as intelligently designed baths and water conserving toilets.
Alan Penny says: "We are delighted that Greenworks has won the prestigious Horizon Interactive Bronze Award in the B2B category. It has coincided with this year's launch of several new website features, including a green energy blog and video content, and the award proves that all our hard work in designing the website to such a high standard has been recognised."
Matt Gibson, Interactive Producer at Cyber-Duck, comments: "The Greenworks website offers a superior user experience compared to other industry related websites due to its clean design and easy usage. The content is engaging, effortless to digest and it encourages users to explore an interactive eco friendly house and bathroom."
