H+H UK’s revolutionary Rå House system has been speeding the construction of 14 houses for Hillreed Homes at Gwynne Gardens, East Grinstead. Rå House is a modern masonry construction, which utilises teams of expert installers who work quickly and efficiently to complete the, weatherproof, high quality masonry shell of a house. First fix trades can then start work inside while the brickwork facings are still going up.
According to Hillreed’s building director, Stephen Pilkington, Hillreed chose Rå House because they wanted to use a Modern Method of Construction that was closer to their traditional way of working, and Rå House incorporates the Celcon Thin-Joint masonry system, a recognised Modern Method of Construction (MMC).
Norman Hinckes of recommended contractor Masonry Frame Systems who erected the shells said: “All the units went up very quickly, enabling us to provide Hillreed with weatherproof shells before the onset of winter weather.”
Gwynne Gardens is a stylish development being built to a high environmental standard. It comprises a mix of two- and three-bed terraced and semi-detached homes and one four-bed detached home. All are built in the traditional Sussex style with brick and tile-hung facings.
