In accordance with recent Victorian State Government regulations for all new apartments and homes, Metricon's extensive range of products have been designed and constructed to meet the 5 Star standard.
Metricon GM-Marketing, Darren Mehl, said that the current law ensures that new homes in Melbourne, and throughout Victoria, are more energy and water efficient, reducing greenhouse gas pollution and saving our precious water resources.
"This regulation is necessary for the long term future of the environment and also saves homeowners money on their heating, cooling and water bills" said Darren. "All of our homes comply with 5 Star energy rating for building fabrics and a solar hot water system."
"Customers have a choice of a rainwater tank or a solar hot water system and Metricon's preferred option for the overall aesthetic appeal and build ability of the home is for the solar hot water system. It is possible to have both but one is sufficient to fulfill the 5 star standard," Darren continued.
When building a house, Metricon can incorporate the following energy-efficient elements:
- Insulation
- Sisalation
- Draught proofing
- Selected cladding materials, flooring and bricks
- Double glazed windows
- Shading
- And more
Metricon's new homes are individually assessed by a member of Metricon's 'FirstRate' assessment team who is formally accredited by the Sustainable Energy Authority Victoria (SEAV).
"We will ensure that your new home will achieve a 5 star rating," said Darren. "Your home is monitored by your designated Site Manager during construction to ensure compliance to the 5 star detailed report. We have the outmost confidence in the quality of our homes, construction includes the best building materials from leading suppliers in the industry, offering you superior finishes for your dream home."
