Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has upgraded its line of chop saws with the new CS23-255 model. The new chop saw features an increased power rating of 2,300 input watts and an added overload capacity of 15 amps for faster cutting of tougher or thicker materials.
With an ergonomic, horizontal D-shaped handle and weighing only 38 lbs, the 14" chop saw allows for safer operation and more precise cutting. The saw's large cutting capacity enables easy cutting through up to a 2.5" solid stock, 5.0" pipe and 5.0" x 4.0" shapes, making the chop saw ideal for use by metal fabricators and drywall, piping and maintenance contractors whose jobs entail cutting metal and bundled drywall studs to length as well as making beveled cuts.
For added versatility, the CS23-255 features two adjustable positions for the rear face of the vice, increasing the maximum vice opening to 9-3/8". The CS23-255 is designed for use with bonded abrasive cutting wheels and includes a standard 17 mm wrench that mounts on the tool base for added convenience when changing the saw's wheel.
Safety features include a safety lockout switch to prevent an inadvertent start as well as a pivoting wheel guard and a spindle lock for convenient wheel changes.
