ITW Brands, a division of Illinois Tool Works Inc. has introduced TAP-N-LOCK(TM) by E-Z Ancor(R), a revolutionary drywall anchor that installs like a nail and hangs with the security of an anchor.
"Installation is fast and easy since there's no messy pre-drilling or tiring wrist turning," says Rich Ernst, Engineering Manager for E-Z Ancor. "Similar to the simple installation of a nail, TAP-N-LOCK taps in with just a hammer and hangs up to 50 pounds."
The tap-in installation of the anchors may save time, but the magic of TAP-N-LOCK's hanging security is its pivoting leg technology -the anchoring system ensures that whatever goes into the wall stays in the wall.
"Do-it-yourselfers want to know that the item they're hanging is secure," says Ernst. "They often have problems installing metal anchors that deploy behind the wall. These products damage a large area behind the wall, leaving little surface area to grab onto-resulting in little to no holding power. Also, because the screw keeps spinning even when it's flush, you don't know when you're done and can easily miss-install the anchor. Our pivoting leg technology removes the guesswork. Once a screw or hook is inserted flush, the leg flips against the back of the drywall for a secure hold that won't back out."
TAP-N-LOCK(TM) anchors can accommodate screws and many different hanging options. Screws can hang heavier items like mirrors and picture frames up to 50 pounds. Hanging options include an assortment of hooks along with a cable tie, and a nail pin. These options can hold items such as coats, key chains, backpacks, fire extinguishers, brooms, and telephone/computer cords-virtually anything up to 20 pounds. Each hook and anchor can be removed leaving only a small easy to repair slit in drywall.
