In one of the most anticipated developments in modern Muskoka history, the first phase of buildings at Touchstone on Lake Muskoka are carefully rising up on this fabled shoreline.
A spectacular lakefront vacation home paradise featuring luxurious 2, 3 and 4 bedroom fractional ownership cottages and villas, Touchstone will provide a year-round maintenance-free lifestyle for the first fortunate families scheduled to take occupancy this May.
The magnificent Touchstone Lodge, situated 40 feet above sparkling Lake Muskoka and home to the casually elegant restaurant, full service spa, fitness centre and Muskoka's first infinity pool, is already showing signs of what will be a marvelous addition to the grand history of Muskoka architecture.
The gorgeous grouping of Tree Top Villas with their breath taking panoramic view of Lake Muskoka, and the Cascade Villas, nestled at the shore amongst the towering long needled pines are both taking glorious shape as construction crews strive to seamlessly integrate the buildings and services into the delicate Muskoka environment.
"I'm very pleased with the progress we've made over the last few months," says Walter Thompson, President of The GenerX Corporation, the developer of this vacation paradise. "Not only is our dream coming to fruition, but throughout the entire design and construction process we have taken every precaution possible to preserve and enhance the delicate ecosystem of this pristine area. Everyone in Muskoka can rest comfortably in the knowledge that a steady hand is guiding our efforts - one step at a time."
Mr Thompson is also proud of the employment Touchstone has brought to this revitalizing tourist region, as work forces now total in excess of 80 people on site daily.
"The trades people in the area have been tremendous, and we certainly couldn't have accomplished all that we have over these last few months without their skill, dedication and superb craftsmanship," says Mr. Thomson. "As subsequent phases commence in the coming years, we'll continue to hire from within the local economy, not to mention the hiring of full and part-time staff who will service Touchstone owners and guests throughout the year."
With the last of the sub-grade work currently being completed, the race is on to get the last buildings enclosed before winter takes hold.
"With winter fast-approaching, one of our primary construction goals is to have all the building envelopes complete and weather tight before the snow flies," says Mr. Thompson. "With the buildings now fully serviced with water and electricity, this will allow the finishing trades to complete their interior work and all the fine detailing that will make Touchstone one of the most luxurious and enviable vacation spots in North America."
