The National Association of Home Builders' 50+ Housing Council has issued a call for entries for The Best of 50+ Housing Awards 2008, the premier design and marketing competition for the seniors housing industry. Professionals involved in this market niche have until February 29, 2008 to enter their best community designs, model merchandising, and advertising and marketing efforts.
The 2008 program features more than 50 categories covering all aspects of the 50+ housing market. Active adult categories range from overall community and clubhouse design to condominium unit design and model home merchandising. Other design categories include aging-in-place, assisted living, congregate-living community, continuing care retirement communities, mixed-use, multifamily housing, renovated housing and special-needs housing.
The Best of 50+ Housing Awards' marketing categories allow builders and sales and marketing professionals to compete against the industry's best. Individual marketing categories are logo, community brochure, direct mail piece/campaign, Web site, black-and-white and color print advertisement, radio and television commercial, sales center and special promotion.
The Best of 50+ Housing Awards gala evening ceremony will take place May 20, 2008, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, La., during Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50+ Housing SymposiumSM 2008 (May 19-21). Presented by the NAHB 50+ Housing Council, the Symposium is the premier networking and educational event for professionals serving the 50+ housing market.
"With the boomers leading the way, today's 50+ consumers are different than the mainstream and demand cutting-edge community and home designs, as well as innovative marketing approaches," said Doug Van Lerberghe, an architect with KEPHART Community Planning Architecture and 2008 chairman of the Best of 50+ Housing Awards committee. "The Best of 50+ Housing Awards rewards builders, architects and other industry professionals who step outside the box to meet the unique needs of this evolving market."
