The company specializes in complex systems that offer added value for customers. At the heart of its work stands Energysquared, a model for the whole building envelope, saving and generating energy through insulation and solar photovoltaic and thermal systems. It incorporates three concepts: "Energy through Automation", using all forms of window opening, to optimize shading, ventilation, lighting, and climate control; "Energy and Security" to protect life and property from extreme weather, crime, fire, and other dangers; "Energy and Design" for durability, beauty, and ease of use.
All building components undergo rigorous testing at Schuco's Technology Center in Bielefeld, Germany. The center is one of the world's leading test laboratories for window, curtain wall, facade and solar technology. Schuco provides integrated systems for projects throughout the nation.
"Architects are increasingly focusing not only on modern aesthetics, but also on the carbon-neutral value of solar energy. After all, there are numerous areas on every building that are set at the required angle in relation to the sun. I have no doubt that, in the near future, solar energy systems will become a commonplace sight on buildings. Our comprehensive model "Energysquared - Saving energy, generating energy" already takes account of this process," explains Dirk U. Hindrichs, President and CEO of Schuco International KG.
The Schuco solar program consists of products for solar electricity generation (photovoltaics, PV) and solar heating (solar thermal). Schuco PV packages are flexible enough for the most varied of applications, from systems for single-family homes to complex commercial roof projects. PV systems are generally subsidized on state, local, or even utility level, reducing the total system cost. A typical Schuco thermal transfer system including two collectors and an 80 gallon tank could provide hot water for up to 4 people, depending on location. Schuco systems have a minimum lifespan of 20 years and provide hassle-free, low maintenance operation.
